Progressive punk released under a Creative Commons License? You bet! The Finnish punk group, Out Of Tune, have decided to do such a thing. The whole album is readily available on their website and they also grant you the rights to their material for different anti-commercial use as multitrack source files. How great is that!?

Well, that´s pretty much what the album title implies - discontent producers. Fuck the music business, fuck producers, fuck record companies, fuck royalties, fuck copyrights. These guys don´t need any of that shit. They´re independent! This is what DIY independent music is.

What about the music, then? Well, like I said, it´s punk, with progressive and hardcore punk influences. It´s fast, melodic, wild and includes some crazy ideas. All this is done with a little bit of humour to keep it light. Not to say that it´s just a joke, because it´s not. It´s done with taste and when the band has mentioned such a name as Primus as a recent influence, it´s very easy to hear that and it gives you an idea of what´s going on. And personally I get a Dead Kennedys vibe at times.

The album is very well thought out when you pay attention. Plenty of nice details are included that make this an excellent number. The production could be a bit clearer to catch all the good stuff but on the other hand it fits the music like a condom. And not one of those ribbed condoms, “for her pleasure”, because you don´t need any special effects with this one. This is guaranteed to give satisfaction all on it´s own! The songs never give you one single chance to get bored at any point, but instead keep you interested up until the last song and you just know what needs to be done after that. Yep, you guessed it - spin it again, motherfucker!

There you have it! 30 minutes and 15 tracks worth of quality punk from the cold Northern parts of Scandinavia. Highly recommended for fans of punk and for people who like progressive stuff.
